OVERVIEW:

As the Assistant Director of Food & Beverage , you will play a key leadership role in overseeing daily operations across our food and beverage outlets and banquet operations, partnering with Food and Beverage Managers to deliver memorable dining and event experiences that align with Westin brand standards. You will support team member recruitment, training, and development while overseeing scheduling, labor management, and operational efficiency to ensure consistent service excellence and strong financial performance.

As a visible and engaged leader, you will foster a culture of genuine hospitality, inspire associates to deliver exceptional service, and build meaningful relationships with guests. You will proactively address guest feedback, resolve challenges with professionalism, and balance operational priorities while maximizing revenue, profitability, and guest satisfaction. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Oversee daily food and beverage operations, including outlets and banquet functions, to ensure smooth, efficient service and compliance with Westin brand standards.
• Deliver exceptional guest experiences by anticipating guest needs, responding promptly to requests, and resolving concerns professionally and effectively.
• Maintain high standards of food quality, beverage quality, service excellence, cleanliness, and overall presentation throughout all food and beverage areas.
• Lead, develop, and support food and beverage managers and associates through recruitment, onboarding, training, coaching, performance management, and ongoing professional development.
• Foster a positive, collaborative, and engaging work environment that encourages teamwork, accountability, employee satisfaction, and retention.
• Monitor daily revenue, labor costs, payroll, and departmental expenses to achieve financial goals while maintaining exceptional service standards.
• Implement effective cost-control measures and oversee inventory management, product ordering, receiving, storage, and inventory counts to support operational efficiency and profitability.
• Prepare, review, and monitor employee schedules, payroll, and labor utilization to ensure appropriate staffing levels and compliance with departmental guidelines.
• Conduct regular inspections of dining areas, service stations, and operational spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, organization, and compliance with quality assurance standards.
• Build and maintain positive working relationships with guests, associates, hotel leadership, and other departments to support seamless operations and shared business objectives.
• Participate in food and beverage meetings, operational reviews, pre-convention meetings, and other planning sessions as needed to ensure effective communication and execution.
• Maintain compliance with company policies, departmental procedures, food safety requirements, and applicable health and safety regulations.

OTHER:

Regular attendance in conformance with the standards, which may be established from time to time, is essential to the successful performance of this position. Due to the cyclical nature of the hospitality industry, employees may be required to work varying schedules to reflect the business needs of the hotel. In addition, attendance at all scheduled mandatory training sessions and meetings is required.
