Job Description Job Description Job Description Purpose & Scope: The physician plays a vital role within the healthcare team, collaborating with other professionals to deliver comprehensive medical services to patients. Each physician's practice scope is established by the credentialing and privileging committee of the health system. The physician is responsible for supporting organizational objectives, budgetary goals, and performance metrics at an individual level. This role encompasses all medical activities at the individual level, including the implementation of quality control standards, risk management, and compliance initiatives. The primary duty of the physician is to provide timely, high-quality clinical care to patients who have chosen our organization. Education: A Doctorate from an accredited medical institution is mandatory. Experience: A minimum of one year of medical or surgical experience is required. Certifications/Licensure: Must be licensed to practice medicine by the Virginia Department of Health Professions. Working Conditions: Patient Care: The work setting is typically well-lit and ventilated, though it may be subject to frequent interruptions and long hours, including changing shifts. Employees may be required to work beyond standard hours, including overtime or on-call duties. There is routine exposure to infectious diseases, bloodborne pathogens, bodily fluids, hazardous chemicals, and other potential risks. Personal protective equipment (PPE) is provided for instances of exposure to blood, body fluids, and infectious processes. Interaction with patients, family members, colleagues, and visitors may occur under various conditions, including those that are emotionally charged or hostile. Compensation Range: The annual salary for this position ranges from $250,000.00 to $552,240.00 .
