Registered Nurse - Cath Lab/EP

Unit Information

Location: San Antonio, TX

• Number of Beds: 110 (4 rooms in Cath Lab/EP)
• Day Shift: 1 CNC, 5 RNs, 8 Cath/EP Techs
• Night Shift: Call Team - 1 Nurse, 2 Techs
• Patient Ratios: 1:1
• Type of Equipment: 3 Siemens and 1 Philips
• EMR Systems: Meditech, Cardio Lab, Mac Lab

Job Responsibilities

The Registered Nurse will be responsible for a variety of critical cardiac procedures. This includes:

• Monitoring Afib/Afluter ablation cases independently
• Scrubbing Afib/Afluter Ablations and Permanent Pacemakers (PPM)
• Performing various procedures such as PPM, Watchman's, LHC, CHC, PCI, Impella's, Balloon Pumps, Peripheral cases, and Thrombectomies.

Preferred Skills

Candidates with the following skills will be prioritized:

• CCL and EP experience
• Ability to transition between EP and Cath Lab for diverse cases

• Flexible schedule availability and willingness to stay until procedures conclude
• Adaptable to shift requirements, including 8, 10, and 12-hour shifts, with lab hours from 06:00 to 22:00
• Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset

Required Certifications

• RCIS
• RCES
• ACLS
• BLS

Floating Areas

Willingness to float between the EP and Cath Lab as necessary.

Dress Code

Scrub attire will be provided by the employer.

Unit Guidelines

• Adhere to attendance policies, ensuring timely arrival for shifts.
• Notify supervisors at least 2 hours before a shift if unable to attend.

Call Requirements

If primarily working in the EP area, the nurse will take call for 2 weekends per month and must be flexible to extend shifts as needed. If only working in the Cath Lab, the nurse is required to be within 30 minutes of the facility and will take 11 days of call per month.

Experience Requirements

Minimum of 1 year of relevant experience is required for this position.
