Contract | 12-Hour Shifts (7:00 AM – 7:00 PM / 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM) | Days & Nights Available | Onsite

Key Responsibilities

• Provide direct patient care within a MedSurg/Telemetry Float Pool, with primary assignment to high-census units and occasional float to additional units within scope of practice
• Manage a patient population that commonly includes CHF, cardiac catheterization, chest pain, pneumonia, chronic renal disease, COPD, orthopedic, and oncology patients (chemotherapy administration performed by permanent staff only)
• Monitor and interpret telemetry strips using Philips monitoring systems; most units have monitor techs available, but RNs must be able to independently read and interpret cardiac rhythms
• Collaborate with CNAs, charge nurses, and respiratory therapy staff; RT manages all CPAP and BiPap equipment
• Report to the clinical coordinator's office prior to shift start for unit assignment; expected to adapt to varying unit environments while maintaining patient safety standards
• Participate in every-other-weekend scheduling (Saturday/Sunday) and rotate through the holiday schedule alongside permanent staff

Required Qualifications

• Active RN license valid in West Virginia or a compact state
• BLS certification required
• ACLS certification required
• Must successfully complete and pass a facility cardiac rhythm exam prior to placement
• Minimum of 1–2 years of MedSurg and/or Telemetry nursing experience
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility to be eligible; a copy of an unexpired driver's license is required with all submissions

Preferred Experience / Skills

• Prior experience in a float pool or multi-unit environment
• Familiarity with Philips telemetry monitoring systems
• Experience caring for cardiac, oncology, or orthopedic patient populations
• Comfort with varying nurse-to-patient ratios (expected 1:5–6; acuity-dependent)
