Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated Line Cook to join a fast-paced team. Duties and responsibilities will include preparing high-quality dishes according to standardized recipes and instructions, keeping workstations clean and orderly, and working closely with other team members to ensure efficiency in a dynamic kitchen environment. Attention to detail, a sense of urgency, and the ability to work well under pressure are essential for success in this role.

Hours: Monday-Thursday, 2:00 PM - 7:30 PM

Required Duties and Responsibilities:

• Assist chefs with preparing meals for the Cafe
• Handle cash and credit transactions with customers
• Scan goods and collect payments
• Issue receipts, refunds, change, or tickets
• Redeem stamps and coupons
• Make sales referrals, cross-sell products, and introduce new ones
• Resolve customer complaints, guide them, and provide relevant information
• Greet customers when entering or leaving establishments
• Maintain clean and tidy areas
• Keep reports of transactions
• Bag, box, or wrap packages
• Stock items
• Pleasantly deal with customers to ensure high satisfaction
• Assist other café staff in cleanup, dishes, and next-day preparations
• Ensure that students and staff are treated respectfully and equally without regard to their race, color, religion, sex, age (40 years or over), national origin, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, pregnancy, childbirth, or pregnancy-related condition. Report all violations immediately to HR or Student Services
• Adherence to all Dixie Tech Policies and Procedures
• Other duties as assigned

Requirements and Qualifications:

• Basic familiarity with electronic equipment (e.g., cash register, scanners, money counters, etc.)
• Strong communication and time management skills
• Customer satisfaction-oriented
• Attention to detail and mathematical skills
• Sales skills
• Experience as a retail cashier or sales position preferred
• While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching. The employee must frequently lift and/or move items over 50 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
