POSITION PURPOSE:


The General Maintenance Associate is responsible for general maintenance and repairs of the building and grounds (75% of duties). Ensures that the facility is maintained at a high level, snow removal is performed in a timely manner when needed, and cleanliness and safety standards are upheld. The position may also do light cleaning as requested by management.


ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND BASIC DUTIES:

• Ability to use power tools to perform job tasks safely and with desired results
• Ability to service basic mechanical devices and functions within the operations
• Ability to operate alternate facility PIT (scissor lift, sit-down fork, floor scrubber, etc.) safely and within expectations of site leadership
• Maintain and repair production equipment as needed
• Monitor equipment and perform troubleshooting for problems and breakdowns
• Maintain and repair facilities including basic plumbing and electrical systems
• Maintain grounds, parking lots, and driveways. Clears snow
• Provide recommendation to repair or replace poorly functioning equipment
• Efficiently prioritizes repair schedule to ensure an uninterrupted production schedule
• Conduct regular facilities inspections
• Assist personnel as needed. Communicate regularly with personnel to ensure that repairs and maintenance needs are met and coordinated with production schedules
• Keep management informed of areas activities and of significant concerns. Report major concerns or significant problems

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Basic mechanical knowledge
• Specialized training for blood borne pathogens, as well as hazardous materials
• Experience and training in service contractor based skills necessary to perform general building upkeep
• 1-2 years general maintenance experience
• Ability to use power tools
• General repair knowledge
• Good judgment is required for this position as there may be times when direct supervision may not be immediately available

Compensation:


UNFI anticipates paying the above-referenced pay rate (or within the above-referenced pay range) for this position. Actual Pay, where applicable, will depend on a number of factors, including, but not limited to, education, experience, training, and any requirements under applicable collective bargaining agreements. UNFI is committed to transparency in pay in compliance with applicable state and local laws.
