Senior Project Manager, IT Applications & Infrastructure

Position Description:

• Contractor with opportunity to become a Full-Time Employee
• Hybrid onsite; must be able to work onsite in the San Ramon, CA area - specific number of days per week may vary week-to-week

Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced Senior Project Manager to lead a variety of IT projects across enterprise applications and infrastructure. This role is responsible for planning, coordinating, and delivering technology initiatives while working closely with business leaders, technical teams, and external vendors.

The ideal candidate has a proven track record of managing complex projects, solving problems, keeping teams aligned, and driving projects to completion.

We're looking for an experienced project manager who can take ownership of projects, keep work moving, solve problems, and deliver results, not someone who only maintains project plans and status reports.

Responsibilities

• Lead the planning and delivery of IT projects from initiation through implementation.
• Manage projects involving enterprise applications, cloud services, infrastructure, networking, security, and end-user technologies.
• Helo define project scope, timelines, resource needs, budgets, risks, and dependencies.
• Coordinate activities across technical teams, business stakeholders, vendors, and third-party partners.
• Track project progress and provide regular status updates to leadership.
• Identify and resolve project issues, risks, and roadblocks.
• Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and meet business requirements.
• Support change management, testing, training, and deployment activities as needed.
• Maintain project documentation and establish clear project governance and reporting.
• Drive continuous improvement in project delivery processes and best practices.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Business, Engineering, or a related field.
• 10+ years of project management experience delivering IT projects.
• Experience leading both application-focused and infrastructure-focused initiatives.
• Strong understanding of project management principles and methodologies (Agile, Waterfall, or Hybrid).
• Ability to 'manage up;' demonstrated experience to work with SVP and VP stakeholders at a multi-billion dollar company
• Experience managing project budgets, schedules, resources, and vendors.
• Ability to work effectively with technical and business teams at all levels.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• PMP certification preferred but not required.

Preferred Experience

• Enterprise application implementations or upgrades (ERP, CRM, HRIS, SaaS).
• Cloud migration and infrastructure modernization projects.
• M&A related projects (day 1 cutovers, synergy capture, etc.)
• Cybersecurity and network-related initiatives.
• Microsoft Project, Jira, Azure DevOps, Smartsheet, or similar project management tools.
• ITIL or service management environments.
