Location: Akron, OH

Our organization is in search of a skilled Epilepsy Specialist to become part of our Neurosciences Institute in Akron, Ohio. This role presents a remarkable chance to enhance a comprehensive epilepsy program within a healthcare system that is dedicated to technological advancements, innovative practices, advanced diagnostics, and surgical interventions for epilepsy treatment . The position allows for the practice of intricate epilepsy care while contributing to the ongoing development and growth of the program.

The Neurosciences Institute is designed to offer patients a wide range of neurological services. The epilepsy program thrives on collaboration among neurology, neurocritical care, neurohospitalist, and stroke services, along with partnerships that extend into pediatric and surgical care.

• Become part of a healthcare system that prioritizes innovation and the progression of epilepsy treatment , including the ongoing development of AI-driven tools to enhance clinical decision-making, optimize treatments, and improve patient outcomes.

• Engage in the advancement of cutting-edge epilepsy diagnostics and surgical treatment pathways .

• Work alongside regional neurosurgical partners on epilepsy surgeries, with opportunities to assist in the operating room with a local epilepsy surgeon.

• Enjoy a robust neuroscience infrastructure that provides substantial inpatient support for complex neurological cases.

• Utilize an established outpatient neurology referral network within our medical group, ACO, and community partners.

• Contribute to the development of a comprehensive transition pathway for pediatric to adult epilepsy care , collaborating with Akron Children's Hospital and its Level 4 Epilepsy Center for patients moving to adult care.

• Partner with our Complex Care Institute to assist patients with intricate neurological and medical needs as they transition to adult care.

• Combination of clinic and inpatient/EMU settings.

• Focus exclusively on epilepsy practice with a fully equipped neurophysiology lab.

• Utilization of the Epic system for electronic medical records.

• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Neurology.

• Completion of an Epilepsy fellowship .

• Preference for a seasoned epilepsy physician with a proven interest in complex epilepsy management and/or advanced epilepsy care.

• Possession of a current unrestricted medical license in Ohio or the ability to obtain one.

• Willingness to engage in teaching, lectures, and resident education.

• Dedication to delivering high-quality, patient-centered, team-oriented care.

• Interest in clinical innovation, technology, and the ongoing advancement of epilepsy treatment.
