Labor & Delivery Mother Baby Float Registered Nurse

Variable shifts - will be assigned shifts based on staffing needs. Not alternating. RTO needs to be submitted at the time of profile and will not be approved after contract is signed. Will float between L&D, Mother Baby, and OB Special Care.

Certifications required:

• State license required by start date
• BLS
• AWHONN (Advanced or Intermediate)
• NRP

Will clinician float within scope to meet facility needs? Yes, will float between L&D and Mother Baby units

Department descriptions:

Labor & Delivery Department: L&D has 12 LDRs, 3 ORs, 6 OB triage beds, and 8 OBSC. Float between L&D, OBSCU, and MBC as needed according to census. AWHONN staffing model is utilized. Sparrow is the regional referral center for high-risk obstetric care.

Mother Baby Center: 34 rooms. The Mother Baby Caregivers provide postpartum care for the mother and newborn care for babies. Baby Friendly Recognition. Guaranteed hours: 36 hours for 3, 12-hour shifts, 48 hours for 4, 12-hour shifts, 40 hours for shifts under 12 hours (8 or 10-hour shift).

Special requirements:

• EPIC charting experience required
• Must have travel experience
• Must have antepartum experience
• Must have facility births/month 100-200 experience
• Traveler agrees to work 3 weekends per 4-week schedule
• Modules are not billable; please margin for 5 hours
