Job Description

The Registered Nurse (RN) is responsible for maintaining quality patient care through adherence to nursing care plans. The RN supervises Licensed Practical Nurses and Certified Nursing Assistants, while promoting patient and employee safety in alignment with the organization's core values.

Responsibilities

• Conducts nursing assessments on all patients within 8 hours of admission to develop individualized care plans.
• Collaborates with patients, families, and the interdisciplinary team to identify teaching needs and goals.
• Documents all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner.
• Participates in patient rehabilitation programs and is accountable for providing direct patient care based on the nursing process.
• Initiates discharge planning and patient education from the day of admission.
• Communicates relevant patient status changes to care providers to ensure continuity of care.
• Provides supervision and training to nursing personnel, ensuring safety and adherence to hospital policies.
• Maintains a positive work environment by encouraging teamwork and communication among staff and departments.
• Assumes charge responsibilities as required after the orientation period.
• Pursues ongoing professional development through continuing education and self-study.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• BLS Certification required prior to first shift.
• ACLS certification required prior to first shift (for CIRH ONLY).
• A minimum of two years of bedside clinical experience is highly desired.
