Hours of Availability

Full-Time with Flexible Schedule Typically, Monday – Friday; 8a – 5p; weekends, nights & holidays as scheduled

Compensation

$17.48 - $28.41/hour (non-exempt/hourly)

Specific Qualifications, Strengths & Skillset

• Medical Assistant Certification or willingness/ability to attain within 6 months of hire
• Phlebotomy certification or within 6 months of hire.
• Knowledge of medical terminology, clinical expertise and knowledge of patient care processes
• Proficiency with vital sign measurements, such as blood pressure, heart rate and temperature
• Electronic medical record experience
• Knowledge of 'local' community resources a plus; ability to learn quickly
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office & Google products and email communications; ability to learn Rescue Mission & partner systems.
• Working knowledge of HIPPA, OSHA and healthcare clinic guidelines & regulations.
• Ability to relate to health care professionals and agencies on behalf of the clinic

Summary of Responsibilities (Not All-Inclusive)

A successful candidate for the CMA role exhibits the love of Christ, compassion, respect and empathy with kindness in service to others that leads them to provide exceptional patient-centered care to everyone they encounter in the Clinic and during Street Outreach. Serves as a patient advocate by providing excellent customer service, answering questions, addressing concerns, and helping patients navigate Clinic and Respite services. Collaboration with the clinic team, providers and inter-departmental responsibilities involving all aspects of patient care including the intake process, phlebotomy, maintaining accurate medical records, and medication room management. Establish relationships with volunteers and community partners with professional and timely engagement and communication to provide the highest level of patient care. An awareness of safety and security and assist with conflict resolution as needed. Strong safety and security presence to All Rescue Mission of Roanoke team members may be asked to complete other duties as assigned by the leadership/management. The expectation is to complete these assignments as requested.

Since 1948, the Rescue Mission has continued a tradition of comprehensive care to those in crisis in our community. The homeless, the hungry, the chemically addicted, the impoverished and the hopeless have all found a warm welcome at the Rescue Mission.

Men, women and children have found a safe place and compassionate friends in their darkest moments. The Rescue Mission is open 24 hours/day and 365 days/year and provides food, clothing, shelter, an on-site clinic, Recovery Program, case management, and aftercare services. All people in crisis are served regardless of race, gender, creed, age, or ethnicity.

In addition, the Rescue Mission operates a Donation and Recycling Center, 2nd Helpings – Gallery and Shop, Thrift 460, and has an online store presence. All proceeds from sales benefit the programs of the Rescue Mission.
