Production Planner

Role Description Micro Weld is seeking a Production Planner to support and improve ERP-driven production scheduling within our made-to-order manufacturing operation. This role will coordinate production schedules across machining, fabrication/welding, assembly, paint, and outside processing while helping expand utilization of our Infor Syteline ERP and APS systems and increase planning automation. The ideal candidate is organized, process-oriented, ERP-savvy, and capable of improving scheduling structure and automation within a low-volume/high-mix manufacturing environment. This role reports directly to the Director of Operations & Engineering and will overlap with the company’s current planner for approximately 6–9 months to support training and transition efforts. Key Responsibilities Develop and maintain production schedules within Infor Syteline ERP and APS systems Coordinate schedules across machining, fabrication/welding, assembly, paint, shipping, and outside processing Monitor work center loading and job progress to support on-time delivery Improve ERP data accuracy related to routings, work centers, and scheduling logic Assist in expanding APS scheduling automation and system utilization Help standardize scheduling processes that are currently handled manually or through one-off workflows Track schedule status, bottlenecks, and production priorities Collaborate with operations leadership to improve planning discipline and scheduling efficiency Identify opportunities to improve production flow, organization, and scheduling accuracy Qualifications Manufacturing planning or production scheduling experience in a made-to-order, job shop, or custom manufacturing environment Strong ERP experience within a manufacturing environment Understanding of BOMs, routings, work centers, and capacity planning concepts Strong organizational and problem-solving skills Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and ERP reporting tools Strong communication and coordination skills Extremely detailed Preferred Qualifications Experience with Infor Syteline ERP Experience supporting APS (Advanced Planning & Scheduling) systems Experience improving ERP scheduling automation or system utilization Manufacturing experience in machining, fabrication, welding, or assembly operations Key Performance Areas Work center tracking accuracy APS adoption and utilization Benefits 401(k) with company match and profit sharing Paid vacation and holidays This is a full-time, office-based position within a manufacturing facility.
