About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Cardiac Care Unit Duration: 16 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: 2 years preferred License: State RN license required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, CPI required; NIHSS and CCRN preferred Must-Have: Experience in CVICU including IABP and Impella Ability to float within the specialty and to lower acuity areas as needed Description: The Registered Nurse will care for patients in the Cardiac Care Unit. Weekend and holiday shifts are required as scheduled. This position entails working nights for 36 hours a week. A patient ratio of 1:1 is maintained, with up to 3 stable, lower acuity patients as needed. Common patient diagnoses include cardiogenic shock, cardiac arrest, heart failure, and cardiac arrhythmias. Experience with bedside central and arterial line insertions, bronchoscopy, and chest tube insertion is required. The ability to manage specialized equipment such as Impella, IABP, and CRRT is essential. Candidates should possess skills in monitoring and managing patients on mechanical support devices. Candidates must be comfortable floating as required within the nursing specialty. All certifications must be current at the time of submission.
