About the Role Assist individuals with daily living activities such as hygiene, nutrition, mobility, and communication. Provide emotional and behavioral support to individuals with maladaptive behaviors. Implement behavior intervention plans as developed by the interdisciplinary team. Promote independence and self‑determination in a safe and structured environment. Collaborate with clinical, nursing, and support staff to deliver comprehensive care. Maintain accurate documentation and follow established safety procedures. These positions are considered essential personnel and would be required to work in the event of an emergency or facility need. All SEVTC positions are required to work different shifts and/or overtime as requested. This position is hourly/wage and not eligible for benefits. Hourly (wage) employees may not work more than 29 hours a week and are limited to working 1500 hours in a year. Position numbers W0303, W0305 W0307 and W0310 will be filled from this posting. Training Requirement All new hires must successfully complete SEVTC’s Pre‑Service Training Program. This class is for 10 days, held Monday through Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. for Direct Support Professionals. Training includes: Person‑Centered Practices CPR/First Aid Certification TOVA (Therapeutic Options of Virginia) Medication Administration Nutritional Management Physical/Behavioral Management Skills and experience required "We are looking for candidates who are passionate about helping others and making a positive impact in their lives." Must have a high school diploma or equivalent Must have active, valid driver’s license. Bonus points if you have Prior experience working with individuals with intellectual disabilities, autism, and other disabilities Prior experience working with medically fragile individuals.
