Join Our Team as a Resource Counselor Hero! You'll be the welcoming face (and voice!) for our hospital. You'll be the go-to person helping patients navigate the sometimes confusing world of health benefits, insurance, and financial assistance.

What You'll Do:

• Chat with patients and their families to gather important info like their demographics and financial details so we can connect them to the right care and resources.
• Be a financial detective! Help patients understand their health benefits and what their financial responsibilities might be.
• Handle basic billing tasks and guide patients toward the best financial assistance programs like Medicaid, Social Security Disability, and more.
• Answer phone calls from patients and families with kindness and clarity, making sure they feel heard and helped from the very first "hello."
• Use your problem-solving superpowers to spot opportunities to improve how we assist patients, working across different systems to get them the help they need fast.

What You Bring to the Table:

• A high school diploma or GED (your foundation for success).
• At least 6 months of experience in customer serviceif you've helped people before, you're off to a great start!
• Solid communication skillsboth written and spokenthat help you connect and explain things clearly.
• Comfortable with basic computer stuff like email, Word, and navigating hospital systems.
• A sharp eye for detail, strong math skills, and the ability to multitask without missing a beat.
• A heart full of empathy and emotional intelligence to support patients during stressful times.
• The ability to thrive in a busy, sometimes noisy environment and make quick, independent decisions.

Bonus Points If You Have:

• A year or more in healthcare or state employment (especially Family Support).
• Experience working in a hospital or doctor's office.
• Previous roles as a Patient Accounts Representative or in Patient Access.
• Some accounting experience to bring extra polish to your billing know-how.
