Hours:  Monday-Friday 8AM-5PM; includes an on-call rotation and occasional work outside of normal business hours.

 

Overview:  The Systems Administrator is responsible for the design, development, maintenance, and troubleshooting of server and network infrastructure focusing on system security, integrity, and performance. This position is responsible for establishing standards, writing documentation, and developing workflows to streamline IT support for the agency and is expected to provide cross-training related to systems, networks, and infrastructure. Must be a self-starter and able to balance multiple projects and competing demands. 


Responsibilities

Windows Server Administration including Active Directory, Group Policy, Exchange, and Remote Desktop Services.

Administration of VMware vCenter and ESXi hypervisors.

Storage systems including SAN, Distributed File Servers, replication, and backup systems.

Network Administration including Firewalls, Wireless, BGP/OSPF Routing, VPN, QoS, VLANs, DNS.

Performs operating system and application patch management.

Monitors helpdesk staff and provides escalation point for IT staff.

Project management including design, coordination, and implementation.

Network and server monitoring and capacity reporting.

Stays current with security issues, industry trends, and best practices.

Working knowledge of HIPAA/HITECH and PCI-DSS compliance requirements.

 

Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in computer science, information systems, or a related field or equivalent work experience.

Preference of three (3) years of experience with Windows system administration in an enterprise environment.

Must have excellent written, verbal, and presentation skills; ability to analyze, interpret, summarize, and present technical information and data effectively; and establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with agency staff, partners, contractors, and others.

Ability to lift and/or move various computer equipment and peripheral devices weighing up to 40lbs.

Possess business experience sufficient to meet the demands of the position, including proficiency with a variety of software applications.

Must pass state-required background and DMV checks. Candidate must be able to work independently and flexibly, under general supervision.

Candidates must be able to use e-mail, compose documents, save and locate documents electronically, and learn to use our Electronic Health Record (EHR) system. Proficiency in Word and other MS Office applications preferred.
