Bus AideYWCA Central Massachusetts - Worcester, MA 01608Salary Range $17.00 - $20.00 Hourly Level Experienced Position Type Part Time Job Shift Day Education Level 2 Year DegreeJob Title: Bus AideReports to: Childcare Center DirectorSchedule: Part time, Monday through Friday, 11:00am - 3:00pmJob Summary:Assist in managing the ongoing programming in assigned classroom(s) in a professional and confidential manner and in a way which incorporates the developmental/culturally sensitive philosophy of the Center to ensure the highest quality of care, as well as compliance with NAEYC standards, DEEC requirements, and health and safety regulations.Supervisory Responsibilities:NoneDuties/Responsibilities:Assist in implementing a curriculum and maintaining an environment where children can learn and grow at their own pace, as well as interact comfortably with adults.Supervise children in play and structured activities.Maintain a safe and clean environment for children; performing light housekeeping duties as needed.Greet parents dailyCommunicates any out of ordinary information regarding the children to the classroom teacher.Perform other duties as requested and tasks as assigned by supervisor.QualificationsRequired Skills/Abilities:Ability to relate with co-workers and parents in cooperative/positive manner while supporting students with diverse learning needs and promoting respectful interactions.Ability to work with families and children of diverse cultural backgroundsEducation and Experience:High school diploma or equivalentMinimum 18 years of ageExperience working with childrenPhysical Requirements:Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds at a time.Must be able to bend, kneel, or squat to be at eye level with children.Run or move quickly to respond to emergency situations
