Locum MD (Medical Doctor) Nephrology

This on-site contract position offers a unique opportunity to provide high-quality care in a fast-paced medical practice environment.

As a Locum Nephrologist you will play a crucial role in diagnosing and treating patients with kidney-related conditions. You will work collaboratively with a team of healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive patient care focusing on improving patient outcomes and managing chronic kidney disease effectively.

Responsibilities

• Conduct thorough assessments and evaluations of patients with nephrological conditions
• Develop and implement individualized treatment plans
• Manage acute and chronic kidney disease cases
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care
• Educate patients and families on kidney health and disease management
• Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary
• Participate in case discussions and contribute to team meetings
• Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records

Requirements

• Medical degree (MD or equivalent) and valid medical license
• Experience in nephrology preferred
• Strong clinical assessment and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
• Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
• Commitment to high-quality patient care
• Familiarity with electronic medical record (EMR) systems
• Willingness to work flexible hours as needed

Schedule 10-hour shifts 7 on/7 off

After-hours beeper call required

Setting: Inpatient only

Patient Volume: 20-30 per shift

Cases: Biopsies Aquadex/hemo-dialysis support IR during procedures DTUP/IP infusion and after-hours dialysis

EMR: Epic

Must be board-certified or board-eligible

Paid travel & expenses
