Senior Freight Forwarder

Feltham, Monday to Friday Main Purpose of the role DSV is recruiting for an Export Gateway Operator at our Feltham location. Reporting to the Export Gateway Manager, you will support the day-to-day operations of the Gateway department. This is a dynamic and fast-paced environment, handling a wide range of products, destinations, and shipment types. If you enjoy variety and thrive in a busy operational setting where no two days are the same, this could be the role for you. What will you be doing? Manage and coordinate export air freight shipments, ensuring timely processing and on-time departures. Prepare, review, and maintain accurate export documentation, including AWBs, manifests, customs entries, and freight system records. Coordinate with airlines, handling agents, warehouse teams, overseas offices, and customers to secure bookings, manage cargo movements, and provide shipment updates. Ensure compliance with aviation security, customs, and industry regulations, including IATA, CAA, HMRC, and destination-country requirements. Monitor shipment progress, proactively resolve operational issues, and escalated potential delays to maintain service standards. Maintain accurate cost and rate information while supporting continuous improvement, cargo security, and health and safety procedures. About You Over 2 years of experience in Export Air Freight operations, including direct carrier and airline coordination. Strong knowledge of ULD planning, build processes, and aircraft loading requirements across multiple aircraft types. Experienced in handling specialised cargo, including Aerospace, Automotive, Dangerous Goods (DG), and Pharmaceutical shipments. Customer-focused professional with excellent communication skills and a commitment to delivering high-quality service. Proven ability to work effectively under pressure, prioritise competing tasks, and resolve operational challenges efficiently. Strong attention to detail, accuracy, numeracy, and IT proficiency, with experience adapting quickly to freight management systems, including CargoWise One (CW1). What can we offer you?
