Patient Access Supervisor

Job Summary Ensemble is seeking a Patient Access Supervisor to organize and coordinate the activities of assigned staff, ensuring safe, effective and appropriate work in a fiscally responsible manner. The role involves handling and solving problems related to patient access, maintaining knowledge of functions, coaching staff, overseeing orientation and training, performing revenue cycle tasks, and assisting the Patient Access Manager with day‑to‑day operations. Key Responsibilities Coordinate all registration and pre‑registration duties with direct and indirect reporting employees. Provide training, coaching and corrective action to staff; monitor daily productivity and communicate results. Track and report department performance on key metrics (point of service, wait times, overtime, productivity). Reports may be daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly, annually or as requested. Assign and coordinate staff schedules, including rotations, time off and call‑offs, minimizing overtime while maximizing productivity. Manage upfront collection process tracking, assign goals and provide coaching as required. Participate in on‑call rotation (days, nights, weekends). Provide administrative and educational guidance via telephone and fill in for call‑offs or staffing shortages. Assist in developing and implementing department processes and procedures, conduct staff audits, and provide ongoing coaching. Act as a resource for staff and ancillary departments, promoting excellent customer service and accountability for behaviors. Manage assigned projects related to implementation, tracking and process changes; report to Patient Access Leadership. Participate in daily facility activities, gather statistical information, work as needed in designated areas, assist with staff evaluations, maintain time/attendance system and attend facility meetings as required. Qualifications High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience. Associate’s degree or Bachelor’s degree (Business preferred). 2‑3 years of supervisory experience in healthcare or business. Knowledge of registration, insurance, scheduling, verification, and hospital billing. Proficiency in Microsoft Office. Strong analytical ability and leadership skills. Certified Revenue Cycle Representative (CRCR) certification required. Experience with AI tools and team management using AI is desirable.
