Job Description:
The Registered Nurse in the CVOR unit will provide specialized cardiovascular surgical care for patients undergoing cardio and thoracic surgeries. Responsibilities include supporting the surgical team with thorough preparation and assistance during complex procedures. Strong CVOR experience is necessary due to the intensive nature of operations performed.
Responsibilities:
- Support cardio and thoracic surgeries including CABG, TAVR, and Valve replacements
- May float to the Main OR as required
- Collaborate with the surgical team, including RN First Assist, Surg Techs, and Anesthesia staff
- Utilize EPIC for accurate and efficient charting
- Participate in on-call rotations covering overnight and weekend shifts
Requirements:
- At least 2 years of CVOR experience at Level 1 or 2 trauma center
- BLS and ACLS Certifications
- Completion of a nursing education program approved by a board of nursing
- Registered Nurse (RN) - South Dakota Board of Nursing
- Must reside over 100 miles from the facility
- Strong ability to work independently in a variety of CVOR cases
