Job Title: Propulsion Technician Job Description

As a Propulsion Technician, you set up, test, and evaluate engines and related systems while maintaining a clean, organized, and professional work area. You operate test cell instrumentation and computer network systems, follow detailed test instructions, and make data-driven decisions to accept or reject test units based on test results.

• Clean tools, valves, regulators, and maintain a professional, neat, and organized work area at all times.
• Stage, install, set up, test, and de-stage engines in accordance with established procedures and work instructions.
• Troubleshoot engines and cell systems to identify issues and perform corrective actions or escalate as needed.
• Operate test cell instrumentation, computer network systems, and test units as described in test instructions.
• Follow detailed work instructions to ensure accurate and consistent test execution and documentation.
• Calculate, interpret, and review test data and results to determine engine performance and compliance.
• Accept or reject test units based on calculated test data, test results, and established criteria.
• Use mechanical hand tools safely and effectively during engine staging, installation, and maintenance activities.
• Collaborate with team members to ensure smooth test operations and timely completion of testing activities.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and guidelines while working with propulsion systems, test equipment, and tools.

• Mechanical aptitude and ability to work with engines and propulsion-related systems.
• Proficiency in using mechanical hand tools in a manufacturing, assembly, or maintenance environment.
• Ability to follow detailed work instructions and test procedures accurately.
• Basic understanding of pneumatics and related systems.
• Capability to operate test cell instrumentation and computer network systems as directed by test instructions.
• Skill in reading, calculating, and interpreting test data to make sound acceptance or rejection decisions.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean and professional work area.
• High school diploma or equivalency certificate.
• 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing, military, assembly, fabrication, aviation, or automotive environment OR a certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics.

• Certificate from an accredited trade skills program in A&P, manufacturing, and/or electronics.
• Experience working in environments involving assembly, fabrication, aviation, or automotive systems.
• Familiarity with test instructions and quality standards in technical or industrial settings.
• Ability to work effectively on different shifts and adapt to changing operational needs.
• Strong problem-solving skills for troubleshooting engines and test cell systems.
• Good communication skills to collaborate with team members and share test findings.

This role operates in an engine test cell and manufacturing environment where you work directly with engines, test units, mechanical hand tools, and test cell instrumentation. You regularly use computer network systems to follow test instructions and record data. Expected shift times include 1st shift (approximately 4:00 AM – 2:30 PM) and 2nd shift (approximately 2:00 PM – 12:30 AM), requiring flexibility to work early morning or late evening hours. The environment emphasizes safety, organization, and adherence to established procedures while maintaining a clean and professional workspace.

This is a Contract position based out of Hawthorne, CA.

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Hawthorne,CA.
