Duties:

• Meets and instructs assigned classes
• Develops and maintains a classroom environment conducive to effective learning
• Prepares for classes and shows written evidence of preparation
• Develops rules of classroom behavior and maintains those standards
• Strives to implement district's philosophy, educational objectives, and instructional goals
• Takes precautions to protect students, equipment, materials, and facilities
• Maintains accurate, complete, and correct records
• Abides by and assists in enforcing school rules, administrative regulation, and board policy
• Makes provision for being available to students and parents for education related purposes
• Attends faculty meetings
• Cooperates with other members of the staff in planning instructional goals, objectives, and methods
• Assists in the selection of books, equipment, and other instructional materials
• Establishes and maintains cooperative relations with others
• Strives to maintain and improve professional competence
• Guides the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
• Assists the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct

Qualifications:

• Have appropriate Illinois teaching license or be eligible for license based on education and work experience in Science
• Experience working with diverse populations preferred
