Yard Associate
The Yard Associate will assist in the operations of the lumber yard and maintaining a positive and safe work environment. Essential duties and responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Customer Service: Provide a positive representation of Porters. Proactively assist customers. Greet customers entering and throughout the yard. Thank customers when finished and when they are leaving the yard. Possess a friendly outgoing demeanor; work well with customers as well as associates. Ensure all radio calls are answered promptly, courteously and effectively. Forward any customer complaint that cannot be handled to a member of management. Possess strong product knowledge and knowledge of yard layout and location of products.
Yard Operations: Assist in creating a positive, professional and safe work environment. Assist with receiving, checking in and stocking of merchandise throughout the yard. Assist with maintaining back stock levels. Assist with daily maintenance, orderliness and cleanliness of the yard. Communicate any improvement ideas to Store management. Participate in store meetings. Be professional in appearance and actions. Perform all other duties as assigned.
Experience: Any previous experience with using lumber and building materials will aid in learning the position duties.
Physical Demands: Standing, walking, lifting heavy stock, extreme weather conditions, using power tools, etc.
Requirements: 18 years of age or more. Ability to endure strenuous work conditions including inclement weather. Ability to operate power tools and equipment with training. $11.15-$14.
Wage: $11.15-$14.
