Adult Correctional Psychiatry Medical Director Locums Job California Bay Area
Join a well-established correctional behavioral health program seeking a full-time Adult Psychiatrist in a leadership-focused role. This position offers a hybrid schedule with a combination of onsite and remote work while overseeing psychiatric services across a large correctional healthcare system. Position Highlights:Full-time, 40 hours per week
ASAP start with ongoing assignment
Hybrid schedule with onsite and remote flexibility
Day shifts between 7:00 AM and 6:00 PM
8 or 10-hour shifts available
Approximately 2 to 4 weeks for credentialing
Six-month minimum commitment preferred with extension opportunities
Leadership Responsibilities:
Provide clinical leadership for psychiatrists, nurse practitioners, and quality assurance staff
Supervise psychiatric nurse practitioners
Participate in and facilitate meetings, trainings, and operational initiatives
Assist with scheduling, policy development, quality assurance reviews, and program oversight
Collaborate with leadership to support behavioral health operations
Additional Details:
No direct patient care responsibilities
Experience in correctional psychiatry or county jail settings preferred
Prior leadership or supervisory experience strongly preferred
Must be comfortable working within electronic medical record systems and Microsoft Office applications
