Tax Examiner

*Tax Examiner - Fort Collins, CO*
Are you detail-oriented and comfortable working with numbers? This is a great opportunity to build a long-term career with the State while gaining hands-on experience with tax processes and regulations.
*What You'll Do*

* Process tax applications, claims, and account modifications with accuracy
* Set up new tax licenses, special requests, and account updates
* Manually enter and verify data from mailed applications
* Utilize internal tax systems to review, update, and maintain customer records
* Ensure data integrity while working with financial information
*What We're Looking For*

* 2+ years of experience in a financial, banking, billing, or payroll environment
* Strong attention to detail and comfort working with numbers and financial data
* Experience with data entry, processing claims, or high-volume transactions
* High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree preferred
*Nice to Have*

* Prior experience in tax, government, or compliance-related roles

*Training Structure*

* *Week 1:* Formal State training
* *Week 2:* Classroom learning + shadowing
* *Week 3:* On-the-job training (guided work)
* *Week 4:* Independent work with coaching support

*Pay and Benefits*The pay range for this position is $25.43 - $25.43/hr.
