What You'll Do Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Emergency Department. Lead staffing, recruitment, onboarding, training, scheduling, and performance management initiatives. Foster a positive, collaborative culture that supports employee engagement and professional development. Ensure compliance with all regulatory, accreditation, infection prevention, and patient safety standards, including DPH and The Joint Commission requirements. Partner with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote high-quality, patient-centered care and exceptional clinical outcomes. Drive quality improvement initiatives, patient experience strategies, and department performance goals. Manage departmental operations, resources, and workflow to ensure efficient and effective patient care delivery. Champion a culture of safety, accountability, compassion, and excellence. Qualifications Required Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) from an accredited nursing program. Active and unrestricted Connecticut Registered Nurse (RN) license. Proven nursing leadership experience in an Emergency Department setting, including roles such as: Nurse Manager Assistant Nurse Manager Comparable Emergency Department leadership positions Strong preference for current or recent experience in a Level 1 Trauma Center Emergency Department. Demonstrated ability to lead teams, improve operational performance, and drive patient care excellence. Preferred Master of Science in Nursing (MSN). Five (5) or more years of combined Emergency Department clinical and leadership experience. Charge Nurse experience with significant responsibility for staff coordination, patient flow, clinical oversight, and operational leadership. TNCC certification strongly preferred. As an exempt position under the Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA), pay will be provided as a salary equivalent within the stated range. Compensation may vary based on experience and internal equity considerations.
