This temporary position is located at 127 Cardinal Drive, Wilmington - New Hanover County, with the Department of Environmental Quality/Waste Management. Job Order Hourly Rate of Pay: $30.00 (Based on education and/or years of relevant work experience reflected on the application). Effective July 1, 2025, candidates now meet the minimum qualifications of a position if they have the minimum education and experience listed from the class specification. Key Responsibilities: Organize and manage the preparation of large-scale responses by DWM and its federal partners. Prepare and conduct staff training for large-scale response. Devise a new and efficient system for federal reimbursement of parties impacted by future flooding/hurricane events. Provide an analysis of the most recent storm impacts to Waste and Materials Management programs. Develop a detailed report with recommendations/lessons learned/best management practices for future preparedness.
