Maintenance Reliability Engineer

Job Description

This is a highly technical, engineering-focused role within a fast-paced manufacturing environment. The Maintenance & Reliability Engineer serves as a key problem solver and subject matter expert. Will be the lead over salaried and hourly maintenance support teams. Stepping onto the plant floor, the engineer may encounter multiple machines down and must rapidly assess priorities, determine where engineering expertise will have the greatest impact, and support skilled trades with advanced technical guidance. This includes diving into complex machine schematics, analyzing failure points, and developing effective solutions to quickly restore equipment and reduce downtime. The role requires strong root cause analysis skills, the ability to manage ongoing escalations and maintenance requests, and a focus on closing performance gaps to improve overall reliability. In addition to reactive support, the engineer plays a critical role in continuous improvement efforts leveraging data, identifying trends, and implementing engineering-driven solutions that enhance long-term equipment performance and operational efficiency.

Skills and Requirements

10+ years of equipment maintenance experience - hands on overseeing mechanical/electrical tradesmen (preventative maintenanec, equipment maintenance & repair)

1-2 years of supervisory experience

Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline

Ability to read and interpret mechanical blueprints and schematics, including electrical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and coolant systems

Industrial manufacturing background - HIGHLY preferred to come from engine or transmission with CNC machining, milling, lathes, grinders, drilling, robots, etc.

CNC experience machining

Comfortable working 5:30 AM -2:30 PM (6 AM - 2 PM), working 2/4 weekends both Saturday & Sunday Experience in automotive manufacturing environments

Working knowledge of CAD software

Experience with SAP or similar ERP systems
