Maintenance Technician
Maintenance Technician: Responsible for maintaining all converting and corrugating equipment to minimize downtime.
Essential Accountabilities
- Perform duties to install and maintain production machines and equipment
- Provide emergency/unscheduled repairs of production equipment during production and perform scheduled maintenance repairs of production equipment during service
- Perform mechanic skills including, but not limited to, mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, troubleshooting and repair of production machines
- Diagnose problems, replace or repair parts, test and make adjustments
- Perform regular preventative maintenance on machines, equipment and plant facilities
- Use a variety of hand and power tools, electric meters and material handling equipment in performing duties
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas
- Learn relevant local and company requirements, rules and procedures. Strictly follows rules and guidelines and always uses the right procedure for the job. Promptly reports incidents, near-misses, and unsafe conditions or processes. SKNA employees regardless of level, position or tenure are responsible for upholding the safety standards regulations and policies.
- Perform all other duties as assigned or needed
Job Qualifications
- Follow all safety policies, and safe work practices
- Comply with all safety signs and PPE requirements
- Listen and learn from any training. Be an active participant in learning a job skill or safety issue
- Ask for assistance if the training or instruction is not clear or you don't feel comfortable in performing the task correctly and safely
- Report unsafe acts and near misses immediately
- Address problems with the supervisor ASAP and always try to give solutions to every problem
- Re-address issues with the supervisor on un-resolved topics discussed in the past
- Be an active member in the safety of the workplace. Participate in Safety Committee Meetings, Safety Meetings, and when trained on a safety issue
- Participate in hazard identification
- Five to ten years of industrial maintenance mechanic experience, including but not limited to: diagnosing and troubleshooting; preventative maintenance; lockout/tag out procedures
- Must have high school diploma or GED.
- Must have good working knowledge of preventative maintenance techniques, work order systems, equipment lubrication standards and industrial safety standards
- Certified to operate PIT, scissor lift and boom lift.
- Highly motivated and able to work independently
Physical Requirements
To successfully perform the essential functions of this role it requires the ability to: stand frequently, walk frequently, frequent use of hands (reach with hands and arms), view computer monitor, use telephone, speak and listen frequently. Work at elevated workspaces, ladders, stairs. The role requires occasional lifting and/or moving up to 50 pounds.
