Position Summary:

Cumberland Farms is hiring a QA Analyst to join a growing quality assurance function supporting our core retail technology - with a strong emphasis on POS systems and mobile app testing.

This is a hands-on manual testing role for someone who takes pride in writing thorough test cases, deeply understanding how the business operates, and working across teams to make sure what we ship holds up in the real world of high-volume convenience retail.

You'll be part of a small, collaborative QA team with two onsite QA professionals, working closely with an offshore QA team in India, with additional offshore resources planned. This role is ideal for someone who is comfortable collaborating across time zones, communicating effectively with distributed teams, and taking ownership of testing activities from requirements review through release validation.

The primary objective of the role is to ensure that POS applications and their integrated systems deliver accurate, reliable, secure, and business-compliant transactions while minimizing production defects and release risks.

This position begins as a temporary, full-time hourly role, with a strong opportunity to transition to permanent, salaried employment based on performance and overall fit.

Responsibilities:

1. Develop clear, comprehensive, and risk-based test plans and test cases, with a primary focus on POS systems and mobile applications

2. Perform functional, integration, system, regression, and end-to-end and exploration testing across store systems and mobile platforms

3. Develop a strong understanding of underlying business processes to identify edge cases and real-world scenarios that may not be covered by standard test scripts.

4. Partner closely with developers, business analysts, product owners, and store operations stakeholders to understand requirements and validate that solutions meet real-world needs

5. Collaborate daily with offshore QA resources in India to coordinate test coverage, handoffs, and defect triage

6. Log, track, and clearly document defects, including detailed reproduction steps and supporting evidence; work closely with engineering teams to validate fixes.

7. Support release testing during high demand/rush periods, including required overtime during those windows

8. Contribute to the gradual build-out of test automation as the team matures (not required on day one, but a growth path for the right candidate)

Working Relationships:

Collaborate effectively with Developers, Business Analysts, Product Owners, and other stakeholders & cross-functional teams to understand requirements, resolve issues, and support successful project delivery.

Requirements:
Minimum Education: Associate Degree

Preferred Education: Bachelor Degree

Minimum Experience: 2-3 years of experience

Preferred Experience:

• Experience testing Storepoint & Radiant POS applications as well as PDI and retail transaction systems. and/or mobile applications (iOS/Android) Experience with test management and defect tracking tools such as Jira, TestRail, and Azure DevOps.
• Knowledge of test automation concepts and frameworks is a plus but is not required.
• Experience working with offshore or distributed teams is a plus.

Licenses/Certifications:

• Preferred: Agile/Scrum certification, STQB CTFL, ISTQB Test Automation Engineer

Soft Skills:

• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills; able to work effectively with both technical teams and business stakeholders
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability and willingness to learn complex, cross-functional business processes.

Other Requirements:

Travel: No Travel is required

Hours & Conditions: Must be able to work onsite 5 days/week and available for required overtime during peak/high-demand periods (time off provided during slower periods to balance workload)

Physical Requirements: Ability to maneuver and regularly lift and or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.
