Registered Nurse (RN) - Emergency Room

The Registered Nurse (RN) serves as a clinical practitioner responsible for coordinating and implementing patient care tailored to the specific age and needs of the patient population served in the assigned unit. This role ensures the delivery of quality care in a safe and efficient manner, consistent with established standards. The RN demonstrates professional performance aligned with the organization's mission, vision, and goals while treating staff, physicians, patients, and families with respect and consideration.

Responsibilities:

• Meet expectations of the applicable competencies: Leader of Self, Leader of Others, or Leader of Leaders.
• Conduct initial assessments and establish care priorities based on patient age, symptoms, and psychosocial needs.
• Reassess patients systematically to monitor progress and trends that necessitate intervention.
• Develop and implement a measurable, individualized plan of care within the defined nursing standards.
• Make comprehensive nursing decisions based on interpretation of assessed data and evaluations of patient outcomes; adjust care plans as necessary.
• Engage in patient and significant other health education and discharge planning.
• Implement and document timely interventions that cater to patient needs.
• Evaluate the effectiveness of the plan of care continuously.
• Perform various Point of Care testing procedures as required.

Requirements:

Education/Skills

• Graduate of an accredited Registered Nursing program.
• Current knowledge and skills appropriate to the age/type of patient population served.
• Knowledgeable about and sensitive to patient rights in the delivery of care.
• Effective communication skills in a clear and concise manner, tailored to the developmental age of the patient.

Experience

• Newly hired nurses with two or fewer years of experience will be hired at a CN I status. Candidates may be considered for a higher clinical ladder level based on relevant experience, national professional nursing certification, or additional nursing education (BSN or MSN).

Licenses, Registrations, or Certifications

• Current RN license in New Mexico or a current Compact state license.
• Current BLS Certification.
• Current ACLS Certification.
• Current PALS Certification.
• Current TNCC Certification.
• CPI/De-Escalation certification is highly preferred.

Work Schedule:

This is a full-time position with a night shift from 7 PM to 7 AM, including a weekend requirement of every other weekend.

EMR System:

Experience with EPIC is preferred.

Dress Code:

Pewter/Charcoal grey scrubs are required.
