Overview RN – Clinic – Lodi (part time) • FTE: 0.85 (34 hours/week) • Schedule: 4 days/week • Holidays: N/A • Weekend Rotation: N/A • On Call: N/A Position summary and primary responsibilities are described in the sections below. Responsibilities Utilizes the nursing process: assessment, planning, intervention, and evaluation in all patient encounters. Performs nursing procedures, including therapeutic phlebotomies and allergy injections. Assists medical provider with processing of diagnostic results, bringing significant values to the provider’s attention. Maintains knowledge of tests and procedures and their significance related to patient care. Administers medications by all routes and demonstrates understanding of administration techniques. Recognizes appropriate dosages, interactions, side effects, adverse effects, and routes of administration as they apply to individual patients. Instructs patients about medication therapy and uses knowledge of medications in teaching sessions. Triages and screens telephone calls related to patient care; gathers accurate information with attention to detail. Performs nursing assessments using theory and judgment; implements appropriate care using assessment data, critical thinking, protocols, and standing orders. Performs delegated medical acts and provides supervision as needed for LPNs and unlicensed personnel in accordance with the Nurse Practice Act. Assesses patient status to determine need for treatment or intervention in life-threatening situations; participates in emergency standing orders as needed or under physician supervision. Manages patient flow and performs patient rooming workflows as requested. Collects laboratory samples and schedules referrals/outpatient diagnostic procedures with patient prep information and prior authorizations as needed. Establishes working relationships and teaches protocols for patient education, family counseling, and general public information. Takes a leadership role in department functions including mentoring new staff and ensuring policies and procedures are followed. Leads and participates in site process and policy improvement teams; cross-trains and staffs other clinics as needed. Assists in development and implementation of policies, protocols, standing orders, and quality assurance standards. Performs other duties as required.
