Assistant Professor of Law Job Summary Ohio Northern University's Pettit College of Law seeks candidates for three full-time, entry-level faculty positions on the tenure track. The College of Law has interest in a variety of teaching areas, including but not limited to Contracts, Sales, Secured Transactions, Property, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence, and qualified lateral candidates will also be considered. The College of Law has interest in a variety of teaching areas, including but not limited to Contracts, Sales, Secured Transactions, Property, Criminal Law, Criminal Procedure, and Evidence. Qualified lateral candidates will also be considered. Candidates with experience as a practicing lawyer, judicial clerk, or law teacher are preferred, and we welcome candidates who bring a range of teaching interests and approaches, including experience with varied instructional formats and delivery methods. Expectations include a normal teaching load of four courses per year, scholarly research and publication, and service obligations for the 2027-2028 academic year. Candidates must have a J.D. from a law school accredited by the A.B.A. or an equivalent degree from a foreign institution, a distinguished academic record, and a commitment to excellence in teaching and scholarship.
