Respiratory TherapistThis position requires a night shift, working 3 twelve-hour shifts per week.Job DescriptionThe Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care through intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, adhering to the scope of their professional license and requiring minimal supervision. They evaluate patients and recommend appropriate treatment plans, explain the purpose and procedure of treatments, tests, and equipment to patients, and provide necessary education upon discharge to home.ResponsibilitiesConduct routine physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory and aerosol equipment.Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using specified methods (oropharyngeal, nasal, and tracheal).Monitor oximetry and capnography per policy and conduct pulmonary function studies as prescribed.Assist with respiratory care-related procedures including bronchoscopy, chest tube placement, and tracheostomy care.Perform arterial punctures and maintain efficient ventilation monitoring, recording, and reporting of test results.Conduct cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) according to BLS and ACLS guidelines.Set up and self-test ventilatory equipment and manage mechanical ventilation.Maintain accurate records of treatments and communicate effectively with physicians about patient progress.Ensure correct respiratory therapy charging and manage data entry for treatment records.Required Experience / Certifications / LicensureCurrent licensure as a Respiratory Therapist.Experience in a critical care environment preferred.BLS and ACLS certifications required.Why ARMStaffing?At ARMStaffing, we take care of our employees!
