This is a 13-week contract position.

Night Shift - 3x12.0 hours per week

The Respiratory Therapist provides quality patient care, delivering intensive respiratory care and patient transport as medically prescribed, within the scope of professional license and with minimal supervision. Responsibilities include evaluating patients, recommending treatment plans, and educating patients upon discharge.

Responsibilities:

• Conduct physician-prescribed treatments using various ventilatory equipment, oxygen, aerosol, and nebulizer devices.
• Perform chest physiotherapy and suctioning using various methods.
• Carry out oximetry and capnography monitoring according to policy.
• Review patient's chest x-rays for further evaluation needs.
• Perform 12-Lead EKG and basic arrhythmia recognition.
• Assist with respiratory care-related procedures as per policy.
• Manage tracheostomy care, including insertion/removal of tracheostomy tubes.
• Perform arterial punctures and monitor ventilation efficiency.
• Ensure compliance with laboratory testing policies and procedures in facilities with moderate complexity labs.
• Execute cardiopulmonary resuscitation following BLS and ACLS guidelines.
• Document all pertinent treatment information and patient responses accurately.
• Maintain communication with attending and pulmonary physicians regarding therapy effectiveness.
• Handle respiratory therapy charging with accuracy, including data entry and error correction.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Valid Respiratory Therapist license.
• Experience in a clinical setting preferred.
• Certification in BLS and ACLS.
