Job Title: ICU Registered Nurse Profession: Registered Nurse Specialty: ICU Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 2 Years License: Active, unrestricted RN License or valid compact license Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: Experience with cardiac drips (no vasopressors) Management and interpretation of dysrhythmias Ability to read and interpret own strips Description: Position available for an ICU Registered Nurse in the Critical Care Flex Pool. The shift is 3x12 hour nights, from 7 PM to 7 AM. The patient ratios are 3-4:1. Two years of experience is required, and first-time travelers are accepted. Weekend availability is as needed. Active BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS certifications are required. There are no on-call requirements for this position. The role involves floating to various units including telemetry and cardiac monitoring units. No blocked scheduling; locals are accepted. Request time off must be approved by a unit manager. Guaranteed hours are 36 hours per week, with the facility permitted to call off staff up to 6 times during the assignment. Experience with cardiac drips and the ability to manage and interpret dysrhythmias is required. Registered Nurses must be able to read and interpret their own strips. The facility houses a team to assist with difficult IV placements. The type of facility is a short-term acute care center with 268 staffed beds. The patient population includes adults and geriatrics. The daily census varies, with unit details available upon request. Interdisciplinary support includes IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, phlebotomy, and rapid response teams. Patients may present with neurosurgical and general surgery issues, neuro trauma, orthopedic trauma, sepsis, respiratory failure, and renal failure. The facility serves as a Level 1 trauma center for a large geographic area. Candidates must be comfortable floating to other critical care units and telemetry units based on skills and census needs. Travel pairs are accepted on all units, except for emergency services. Candidates must be available to work two recognized holidays during the assignment.
