Professional Service Industries, Inc. (Intertek-PSI) is a leading US based provider of construction assurance, testing and inspection in civil and commercial construction. Our broad service offering includes construction materials testing, geotechnical services, environmental engineering, industrial hygiene, and specialty testing.
What are we looking for?
The Entry Level Environmental Technician willsupport the environmental business by conducting environmental consulting work. This includes asbestos and indoor air quality related work and more. This position will require some off-shift and overtime work, as well as occasional travel.
Shift/Schedule: Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week, can vary depending on workload,
What you'll do:
Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Surveys
Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Abatement Monitoring
Asbestos/Lead Based Paint/Mold Clearance Sampling
Asbestos Air Sample Analysis
Phase I Environmental Site Assessments (ESA)
Phase II/Subsurface Investigations
Ability to compose and review field documentation and reports
Ability to communicate with clients and regulatory agencies to keep projects moving and on schedule
Participate in all QA/QC programs as appropriate and Safety Programs

Minimum Requirements & Qualifications:
HS Diploma or equivalent required, Associates Degree or 2-year Technical Degree
Knowledge of regulatory requirements
Must be able to read and understand scope of work / work plans
Must be able to work off shifts and overtime and willing to work out of town
Valid Driver's License and reliable driving record required
Preferred Qualifications:
Associate's degree or BS in Environmental Science, Geology, or related field
Experience in environmental consulting services
Asbestos and Industrial Hygiene experience and license
Physical Requirements:
Ability to lift, move, push and pull 30 to 50 pounds frequently. Occasionally, over 50 pounds with assistance.
Ability to receive detailed information through oral communication, (hearing) and to make the discriminations in sound.
Ability to kneel and squat occasionally
Ability to walk and stand for long periods of time
Ability to work outdoors in adverse weather conditions (hot and cold)
Ability to climb occasionally
