Wells Lawn Care & Landscaping is seeking an experienced and motivated Landscape Crew Lead to oversee landscape installation and enhancement projects. This role is responsible for leading a field team to complete projects efficiently, safely, and according to company quality standards—while staying within budgeted hours.

This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who takes pride in craftsmanship, values organization and accountability, and enjoys developing team members.

​​​​ Responsibilities

• Lead and supervise a crew in the installation and enhancement of landscape projects, ensuring work is completed efficiently, safely, and to company standards
• Interpret and execute landscape design plans and job packets
• Oversee installation of hardscapes (pavers, patios, walkways, retaining walls), plantings (trees, shrubs, perennials), grading, sod, seed, and drainage corrections
• Assign daily roles and production goals to crew members
• Train and mentor crew on installation techniques and safety procedures
• Maintain organized, clean, and safe job sites, enforcing company safety policies and PPE use
• Operate and maintain equipment such as skid steers, compactors, saws, and power tools
• Monitor material usage and prevent waste
• Track labor hours and project progress using company software
• Communicate effectively with management and customers regarding project updates, changes, or concerns
• Conduct quality checks and final walk-through inspections to ensure high standards are met

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent
• 2+ years of landscape installation experience
• 1+ years of experience in a crew lead or supervisory role preferred
• Strong knowledge of hardscape and plant installation best practices
• Ability to read and interpret landscape plans
• Valid driver’s license
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
• Familiarity with power tools such as hedge trimmers, chainsaws, backpack blowers, string trimmers, and pruning equipment
• Strong attention to detail, dependability, and a team-oriented mindset
• Commitment to safety, professionalism, and continuous improvement
• Must pass a pre-employment drug screening and background check
