• \t3+ years of machining experience\n•\tExperience with cutting tooling (2+ years) (there is different types of tooling, we don’t want tool and die or robotics tooling) \n•\tStrong experience with turning tooling, CNC tooling, and machining processes, such as (drilling, reaming, taping, milling)\n•\tHigh production machining tool manufacturing experience \n•\tTool Design experienced \n•\tExperience programming of Tool Presetters (Royal/Zoller)\n•\tExperience supporting production machining operations and tooling optimization.

Job Description

Insight global is seeking a Tooling Engineer to support tube and carrier machining operations within a high-volume manufacturing environment. This role will partner closely with Process Engineers, Tooling Teams, Production, and Quality to ensure the successful launch and ongoing performance of advanced manufacturing lines. The Tooling Engineer will be responsible for developing and optimizing machining tooling, improving process capability, reducing variability, and ensuring all quality and production metrics are achieved. The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience in machining tooling, tool design, and production manufacturing, with a strong understanding of launch activities, PPAP documentation, process control, and continuous improvement methodologies.\n\nKey Responsibilities\n•\tDevelop, implement, and optimize tooling solutions for tube and carrier machining operations.\n•\tSupport machining processes through tooling development, validation, and continuous improvement activities.\n•\tLead implementation and utilization of GTSV (Global Tool Supply Verification) tool tracking systems.\n•\tIdentify tooling-critical product characteristics and establish appropriate process controls to ensure quality and capability.\n•\tDrive continuous improvement initiatives focused on safety, quality, productivity, and cost reduction.\n•\tComplete all launch-related quality documentation, including PPAP requirements and process validation activities.\n•\tApply engineering and analytical methodologies to establish robust machining processes and improve manufacturing performance.\n•\tInvestigate tooling, process, and quality issues utilizing structured problem-solving methods and implement corrective actions.\n•\tPartner with suppliers and internal cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing challenges and improve process stability.\n•\tConduct process audits to ensure compliance with Ford Powertrain manufacturing and quality standards.\n•\tDevelop and maintain process documentation, standardized work instructions, and tooling specifications.\n•\tLead lean manufacturing initiatives focused on waste elimination, variability reduction, and operational excellence.\n•\tEnsure compliance with plant, corporate, environmental, and governmental regulations.\n•\tSupport ISO 14001 requirements, environmental initiatives, and internal audit activities.\n•\tDeliver capable machining processes that consistently meet safety, quality, throughput, and cost targets.\n\nCompensation:\n$45/hr\n\nExact compensation may vary based on several factors, including skills, experience, and education.\n \nBenefit packages for this role will start on the 31st day of employment and include medical, dental, and vision insurance, as well as HSA, FSA, and DCFSA account options, and 401k retirement account access with employer matching.
