Grants Management System (GMS) Specialist

About the Job The scope of work for this position is to provide support in archiving grant data from the legacy Grants Management System (GMS), testing the new GMS before each new step/new program launches, and creating testing guidelines and instructional job aids for staff and external partners. This work includes compiling and sorting information, troubleshooting customer requests, applying data program techniques and procedures, generating reports, storing completed work in designated locations, performing backup operations, keeping information confidential, complying with data integrity and security policies, ensuring proper use of office equipment, and exporting and saving information from existing systems to a Google folder. Work Environment Temporary position not to exceed 9 months Position is scheduled 40 hours/week Hybrid, a minimum two days per week in the Lakewood office Core business hours Monday – Friday, 8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m. with some flexibility available Key Responsibilities Helps customers with technical issues related to grants management software Diagnoses problems – analyzes customer issues to determine the cause and guides customers through the steps to solve them Communicates with customers – answers support calls, emails, chats, or other messages Trains users on software in person or through tutorials, such as videos, manuals, or digital pages Maintains systems – tests computer components, monitors and maintains systems, and performs performance tuning Analyzes specifications – reviews and analyzes software’s specifications before performing tests Develops tests – collaborates with end users to develop test plans Executes tests – performs exploratory, functional, and regression testing Documents bugs – records bugs, glitches, and other flaws as each test is executed Troubleshoots issues – resolves issues Prepares reports – details the software’s effectiveness and any needed adjustments Minimum Qualifications Four years of relevant experience in database administration including configuration, testing, troubleshooting, and end-user training and support Education may substitute for experience on a year-for-year basis; official or unofficial transcripts must be attached at the time of application Preferred Qualifications Experience managing multiple projects simultaneously Customer Service/Stakeholder engagement experience Excellent written and verbal communication skills Technical education or relevant experience in software support, training, or remote helpdesk technical support Discretion and good judgment Knowledge and experience with grants management Ability to manage and track deadlines Experience in FLUXX Grants Management System (GMS) a plus (or any Database CRM experience) Coding ability a plus Conditions of Employment Requires successful completion of a background investigation that includes a polygraph exam, a fingerprint-based criminal history search, and reference checking Benefits Temporary Aide – Anticipated Hiring Rate: $25.00/hour EEO Statement The State of Colorado is an equal opportunity employer committed to building inclusive, innovative work environments with employees who reflect our communities and enthusiastically serve them.
