Job Description
Exciting Opportunity for Registered Nurses in MedSurg!

Job Description:


- Shift Details:
- 12-Hour Night Shifts
- Every-other-weekend rotation (3 weekends out of 6-week schedule)

- Unit Overview:
- Work in a dynamic MedSurg unit with 52 private rooms
- Enjoy a team-oriented environment with a Charge Nurse who takes a full patient assignment
- Full support from clinical assistants and a dedicated team of 4-6 CNAs per shift


- Patient Care:
- Manage a patient ratio of 1:6-7 (mostly 1:7)
- Care for diverse patients including:
- Ortho post-ops
- Basic neuro post-ops (laminectomies, discectomies, spinal fusions)
- General post-ops (gallbladders, mastectomies, sleeve gastrectomies)
- Various medical diagnoses (COPD, CP, pneumonia, cellulitis, etc.)
- Opportunity to work with patients undergoing hemodialysis

- Certifications Needed:
- BLS (AHA) certification required
- NIHSS certification required
- ACLS certification is a plus

- Support Services:
- In-house Hospitalists and Intensivists available 24/7
- Access to an IV team and pharmacy available 24/7
- Remote telemetry when needed; RN's are not required to read strips but can if experienced
- Frequent collaboration with a dedicated RT team available around the clock


- Orientation & Training:
- Comprehensive orientation including general hospital training
- Two full shifts of unit-specific training

- Uniform Requirements:
- RN scrub color: Navy blue top & bottom, navy scrub jackets (no hoodies)
- CNA scrub color: Grey

- Additional Notes:
- Patients testing for COVID will remain on the unit until results are processed
- Cancellation policy: 2 shifts per 13-week contract
- Charting system: Allscripts
- No requirement for a BSN
