Set-Up Technician – Manufacturing Department
Are you ready to level up your manufacturing skills? Join Kelly Services for a contract to hire with our client in Spring Lake, MI to work for a dynamic team as a Set-Up Technician . Take on a hands-on role where you’ll be at the heart of production start-ups and change-overs. Work Schedule:
1st Shift 7:05am -3:05pm - Monday – Friday
2nd Shift 3:05pm - 11:05pm - Monday – Friday
3rd Shift 11:05pm- 7:05am Sunday – Thursday What You'll Do:
- Set up and optimize Single, Dual, and Tri Extrusion runs
- Master a wide variety of tooling changes (multiple per shift!)
- Work with innovative die types—Streamline, Flat back, and Button dies
- Tackle sizing operations using profile plates, vacuum calibration, or air racks
- Manage in-line lamination systems (PSA and HATS)
- Operate in-line cutters: fly knife, puller combos, saw, guillotine, and rotary
- Punch, laser, and ink jet print parts—all in-line!
- Respond quickly to Andon board requests and keep production moving
- Contribute wherever needed—troubleshooting, training, or taking on new assignments
- Seek out additional tasks and projects when time allows
- Promote continuous improvement, participate in Kaizan and corrective actions
- Communicate effectively with your supervisor and teammates
- Perform 6S and other workplace organization duties
- High school diploma or GED (required)
- Previous manufacturing experience
- Prior production change-over experience
- Tow motor license (required)
- Able to communicate, prioritize, work independently, and perform basic computer tasks
- Frequently stand, sit, walk, bend, and crouch; lift up to 50 lbs.
- Read paperwork and computer screens with ease
