Mechanical Engineer

I’m working with an early-stage startup in the Los Angeles area that is building a new class of high-performance power generation systems. They’re looking for a Mechanical Engineer who wants genuine ownership of complex hardware, taking designs from a blank sheet through detailed engineering, manufacturing, assembly, testing, and ultimately production. This is a hands-on role where you’ll work closely with a highly technical founding team and have exposure across the full machine rather than owning one small component. Responsibilities: Mechanical design of complex power-generation and rotating equipment (turbomachinery, generators, motors, etc) Casings, housings, pressure-boundary components, piping, skids, and system packaging - Mechanical integration Working directly with vendors and manufacturing partners Supporting structural and thermal validation of hardwareBuilding, assembling, testing, and iteration Requirements: B.S. or higher in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or similar Experience taking complex hardware from concept through manufacture and test Strong CAD experience Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawings Knowledge of machining, fabrication, assembly, and manufacturability Good understanding of structural, thermal, sealing, and tolerance considerations Particularly interesting backgrounds include: Turbomachinery / rotating equipment High-pressure or high-temperature hardware Aerospace propulsion or space hardware Thermal-fluid systems Complex skid or machinery integration FEA, thermal analysis, bolted joints, or high-temperature materials This is a great fit for someone who enjoys being close to the hardware, moving quickly, and having meaningful ownership rather than spending months making small changes to an established product. ~Due to the nature of our work, this position only accepts US Citizens/Green Cards~ #J-18808-Ljbffr
