Surgical Services Float Pool- Enterprise Pre-op & PACU

\n
• Schedule : Day Shift, PRN. Department requires candidate to be available for 1 shift per week as the minimum requirements. Shifts are 8 hours, within a window of 5:30A-5:30P, M-F. Schedules done on a 6 week time tract. 
\n
• Department : Pre-Op/PACU
\n
• Location: Candidate will float to both Charlotte and Winston Salem within both inpatient facilities and ambulatory surgery centers, 23 facilities total. This position does not have a set location.
\n
• Requirements: Candidates must have a minimum of two years of both preop and PACU experience, within both inpatient & ASC settings.
\n

• Current RN license in NC (or compact state)
\n
• BLS required; ACLS
\n
• Bachelor’s degree preferred
\n
• 2 years of Pre-OP and PACU experience
\n
• Strong clinical judgment, teamwork, and communication skills
\n

\n
• Conduct comprehensive pre-operative nursing assessments, including medical history, allergies, medications, and baseline vital signs.
\n
• \n

  \n Initiate and maintain intravenous access and administer pre-operative medications as ordered & \n

  \n manage post-operative pain, nausea, vomiting, and other recovery-related symptoms.\n

• \n

  \n Prepare patients for surgery by providing education regarding procedures, anesthesia, recovery expectations, and post-operative care.\n

\n
• \n

  \n Monitor airway patency, respiratory status, oxygenation, circulation, neurological status, and pain levels during recovery.\n

\n
• \n

  \n Perform ongoing post-anesthesia assessments and recognize complications requiring intervention.\n

\n
• Assess surgical sites, drains, dressings, and drainage for signs of complications.
\n
• Monitor cardiac rhythms and vital signs, responding appropriately to changes in patient condition.
