Medical Assistant

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Medical Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will arrive approximately 30 minutes before the provider's schedule begins to prepare rooms, ensure they are fully stocked, and review the daily schedule. You will assist with setting up surgical trays and preparing for scheduled procedures. Our fast-paced environment involves seeing patients every 15 minutes, where you will room the patient, conduct interviews, document chief complaints and history, and act as a scribe. You will be responsible for creating preliminary notes for the doctor, providing patient instructions, removing sutures, and handling emails and phone calls, including communicating pathology results to patients.

Responsibilities

• Prepare examination rooms and ensure they are fully stocked.
• Review the daily schedule and set up surgical trays as needed.
• Assist doctors in seeing patients every 15 minutes.
• Room patients, conduct interviews, and document chief complaints and history.
• Act as a scribe, taking notes in the computer system for the doctor.
• Create preliminary notes for the doctor's review.
• Provide instructions to patients and remove sutures.
• Answer emails and phone calls, and communicate pathology results to patients.

Essential Skills

• At least 6 months of experience in medical assisting.
• Experience in patient care, patient vitals, and charting.
• Scribing experience is essential.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience in dermatology is a significant advantage.
• Customer service skills are crucial.
• Willingness to get certified, though it is not required.
• Experience in patient education and appointment scheduling.

Work Environment

Our office is expansive, occupying the entire second floor of the building. We have fostered a positive and flexible culture, currently accommodating 16 medical assistants. The office is undergoing renovations to enhance its size and aesthetics. The work schedule is Monday to Friday from 7:30 am to 5:30 pm, with one medical assistant starting at 6:45 am to accommodate a physician who arrives at 7 am. The office environment is close-knit, with medical assistants providing direct support to doctors.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Lancaster, PA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $18.00 - $18.00/hr.
