Field Geologist I

Position Overview RRc is seeking a talented Field Geologist II to help build the future of U.S. energy production from our Round Rock, Texas office. This is a full‑time position based in the Round Rock, TX office. RRC is a multi‑disciplinary engineering firm specializing in energy projects, particularly renewable energy, throughout the United States. Essential Responsibilities Perform fieldwork for geotechnical subsurface investigation programs and geophysical surveys as instructed by engineering staff. This includes geotechnical drilling and sampling, visual field reconnaissance, and soil and rock logging. Conduct geophysical surveys such as seismic surveys, earth electrical resistivity surveys, and other surveys directed by a project geophysicist. Observe and document geotechnical construction activities and perform construction material testing/inspection during construction phases. Perform other engineering activities as required. Qualifications BS or Associate degree in Civil Engineering, Geology, or Geophysics preferred; high school diploma required. Willingness to travel 95–100% throughout the United States and work in various site conditions and project locations. Proficiency with MS Office computer programs. Previous experience in outdoor/field working and driving conditions preferred. Previous experience in geotechnical drilling/sampling and construction material testing in soil and concrete preferred. Willingness to relocate to RRC’s Round Rock, TX office. Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record required. Good oral and written communication skills and ability to lead or be part of a project team. Ability to work independently, prioritize workload, and deliver quality results on time. Physical requirements: prolonged sitting, walking, standing, and lifting up to 15 lbs. Benefits Flexible work hours to accommodate work‑life balance.
