Craftsmen Contractors is seeking skilled and detail-oriented Sheet Metal/Ductwork Mechanics, Apprentices, and Sheet Metal Helpers for a commercial project in the Canton, Mississippi area. This is for an ongoing commercial project working 6-day shifts (10 hours per day) from Monday through Saturday.

Sheet Metal/Ductwork Mechanics starting pay rate: $26 - $27/hour, depending on experience

Sheet Metal/Ductwork Apprentices & Helpers starting pay rate: $18 - $21/hour, depending on experience

The ideal candidates will have experience in fabricating, assembling, and installing sheet metal products. This role requires a strong understanding of metalworking techniques and the ability to work with various tools and equipment. The Sheet Metal Mechanic will play a crucial role in ensuring high-quality standards in our production processes.

Job Duties:

• Fabricate and assemble sheet metal products according to specifications and blueprints.
• Operate machinery such as shears, brakes, and plasma cutters to shape metal components.
• Use hand tools and power tools to perform tasks efficiently and accurately.
• Conduct quality checks on finished products to ensure they meet required standards.
• Collaborate with team members to complete projects on time and within specifications.
• Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
• Troubleshoot issues that arise during the fabrication process and implement effective solutions.
• Utilize an ohmmeter for electrical testing as needed in specific projects.

Job Requirements:

• Proven experience as a Sheet Metal/Ductwork Mechanic or Sheet Metal/Ductwork Apprentice/Helper
• Proficient in reading blueprints and technical drawings.
• Strong knowledge of sheet metal fabrication techniques and tools.
• Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills to effectively collaborate with colleagues and supervisors.
• Commitment to maintaining safety standards in the workplace.
