Role Overview:

PIUS is seeking a Head of Domestic Sales to lead wholesale growth and brand development within a defined U.S. territory. You are not just selling wine. You are curating how PIUS shows up in the world.

This is a market-facing role responsible for managing distributor relationships, driving on-premise placements, and expanding PIUS’s presence in key accounts aligned with the brand.

The Head of Domestic Sales will act as the primary ambassador of PIUS within their region. Ensuring every touchpoint reflects the brand’s positioning, discipline, and long-term vision.

This role is designed for a highly connected fine wine professional who understands how to grow distribution without compromising exclusivity.

The position reports directly to the Founder and Executive Leadership.

Qualifications:

5–8 years of progressive wine sales experience, with a focus on fine wine and on-premise channels
Strong relationships with regional distributors, key buyers, sommeliers, and hospitality groups
Proven success in directly building out the CA on-premise market while in tandem forging distributor relationships
Deep understanding of U.S. wholesale systems, pricing structures, depletion models with a large emphasis on the complete DTT shipping ecosystem focusing on the CA market.
Experience opening accounts and expanding distribution while maintaining brand integrity
Background representing premium or luxury wine brands in competitive environments
Strong negotiation skills across placements, features, and distributor programs
Highly self-directed with the ability to operate in an entrepreneurial, founder-led company
Excellent communication and presentation skills across trade and internal stakeholders
Solid analytical and financial acumen (forecasting, pipeline, and performance tracking)
Willingness to travel frequently within the assigned region, including evenings and industry events
Proficiency with CRM platforms and sales reporting tools

Core Responsibilities:

Must be transparent is all facets of the sales cycle process.
Execute PIUS’s regional sales strategy in alignment with national objectives and brand positioning
Build and manage relationships with key distributor partners, ensuring focus, accountability, and performance
Drive high-quality on-premise placements with an emphasis on prestige, alignment, and longevity
Conduct regular market visits including ride-withs, account calls, tastings, and relationship building
Identify and develop strategic accounts within the region
Ensure consistent, elevated brand representation across all distributor and account touchpoints
Monitor distributor performance, depletions, pricing, and inventory levels
Support the rollout of new releases, allocations, and market initiatives
Provide market feedback and insights to leadership on trends, opportunities, and risks
Maintain disciplined reporting across pipeline, placements, and account activity
