Duties

Help

• You will have knowledge of Navy and DoD supply and hazardous material IT systems.
• You will have knowledge of of hazardous materials data structure, data entry procedures, and business roles in Navy and DoD systems as well as policy and regulations.
• You will have knowledge of laws and regulations pertaining to environmental management of solid waste, air pollution control, air/water quality, toxic substances and hazardous materials in order to investigate compliance issues.
• You will have knowledge of data analysis tools including SAS, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Access.

Qualifications

Your resume must demonstrate at least one year of specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade level (GS-11) or pay band in the federal service or equivalent experience in the private or public sector. Specialized experience must demonstrate the following. 1) Identifies a need for and knows where or how to gather hazardous material information; organizes and maintains information or information management systems. Determines its importance, accuracy, and communicates it by a variety of methods.2. Coordinates hazardous materials management programs. Ensures that hazardous property is received, handled, stored, inspected, documented, and manifested/disposed of in compliance with applicable environmental regulations and safety requirements. Knowledge of environmental handling and disposal procedures for hazardous materials and wastes.3. Evaluates environmental programs by organizing, analyzing, and interpreting environmental data using an appropriate risk-based approach to identify problems and recommend solutions. Advises customers on results of evaluation to enhance environmental compliance strategies.4. Identifies and analyzes problems; weighs relevance and accuracy of information; seeks/generates and evaluates alternative perspectives/solutions; makes timely/effective recommendations, based on potential implications of findings or conclusions. Critically evaluates to identify the causes of problems, and chooses courses of action that balance the interests of the mission and stakeholders.
